Jaguar gives F-Type the Special Vehicles Operations group treatment

Since unveiling the F-Type convertible in 2013, we've seen a number of iterations of the spiritual successor to the venerable E-Type, including the F-Type S, F-Type British Design Edition, F-Type R, a Tour de France support vehicle concept and Project 7 concept. Set to join the family is the F-Type SVR, described as a 200 mph (322 km/h), two-door aluminum sports car that is lighter, faster and more powerful than the F-Type R that inspired it.

The F-Type SVR is the first series production vehicle from Jaguar Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations group, which is tasked with creating high performance and limited edition vehicles for both marques. It engineered the exclusive F-Type Project 7, which sold out all 250 units after receiving a limited production run nod last year.
"The result is a 200 mph, all-weather supercar that you can drive every day – we even made a Convertible version so that enthusiasts can revel in the sound from the new titanium exhaust system," says John Edwards, Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations.
The F-Type SVR is expected to be available in the 2017 model year with full specifications and pricing info to be released min-February ahead of the car's global debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1, where our own CC Weiss will be on the ground to provide first-hand impressions of the car.
